Otherwise, It's been a relaxing week besides having to work it and of course, Saturday as well. Looking at some choice books on amazon to further some skill-sets here and there but managed to find a very nice seminar discussing design techniques and the do's and don'ts of design. If you're interested in spicing up your website it may be worth a minute of your time to look at. Ja Mata!

Otherwise, not much time to do anything lately as it's been hectic all over the map but will try to keep updates posted as more time passes.

Well I’ve recently uploaded a new section (finally) to the webspace and due to time restraints it may be a while for yet another update. The majority of my problem is figuring out how I want to lay out the design for live scripts... I’m thinking some XHR get functions to grab code from assignments to make those sections a bit more interactive but in time I will have a stronger layout... this terms active server course will help me a lot with finalizing a structure to go with...
In the mean time, I’d love to have some video or screenshots of current stuff but its been works in class and whatnot... but expect to at least have this blog heading somewhere in due time... Ja Mata!

It’s been a while since an update. Very odd point in my life where I’m considering switching schools even though a relationship that I just in a sense go out of ended, I still want to move out that way due to the degree I will be able to earn... It’s a tough choice for me, and now that I have no emotional attachments right now I can only see finding a job as the hardest part of this decision. Other than that, schools kept me pretty busy and it may be a while before I work on this website as I’m very busy with homework and tutoring.

Well after quite a lot of changes left and right I’ve finally decided on a layout I can work with and making it work with Internet Explorer... I may as well have slide down a slide nuts first that was made out of cheese graters...
Anyway, It’s DONE! No more @$!# margin issues because of browser inheritance, so enjoy an actual view of the site in (I hope) any browser... I haven’t checked opera because I don’t have it installed for (insert random reason here) and Mac OS, well it’s a good machine but unfortunately I’m not any kind of mac fan whatsoever and the content on here, is going to be driven toward PC’s, so if your here on a mac, find a website with content suited to your needs because I’m not catering to it unless I had a mac computer (In which I never would of course)... And NO I’m not knocking the mac, its got very powerful options but its just not me, something about taking decades to realize its time to upgrade to a second mouse button...
Well bedtime for me, the next few days before class I’ll be preparing some other pages to work around this CSS, possibly style changes based on sections (food maybe
YUM)

Well despite many obstacles, I’ve managed to find a way to incorporate the use of RSS feeds using PHP inside of my website, adding an additional few commands involving cURL and saving a file locally (which is already local to some extent).
Apparently Dreamhost does not support fopen() to use with php to "gather" information from inside other files (RSS/xml in this case) and after all this time have finally found a way to make it work! With the use of cURL while saving a temporary version of your feed to a more ’local’ position, you can then use some other scripts to rearrange your information onto a template
. Now, I’ve got a nice clean (though the CSS is definitely going to be reworked this brown crap is ugly) feed, I can really focus on figuring out what the heck I want to do with the web space. However, right now I’m extremely tired and I am taking my exit off stage to get some nice beauty sleep...

Well I’ve been going over many videos, have a damn good understanding of the basic operations in Adobe Flash CS3. I’ve actually gone up to the point of action script with exception to the few commands such as stop(); But I can fully tween, play around with Bézier curves (god I had to LOOK that up, jeez what the h3ll kind of spelling is that...), breaking apart and reshaping bitmaps... it’s quite fun! At some point expect to see either some sort of menu, application, or short animation video on something COMPLETELY random ![]()
Anyways, I got the drug test ordeal today to hopefully obtain a job in a place which I had been working for a year already... oh the joys of ass kissing... But classes begin in a week too (September 2nd). Looking forward to a few classes here and there with the exception of course to Psychology, as numbers, code, design, and database sound far more interesting to me.
Unfortunately these updates may become a tad bit more spaced out as I’m getting involved in too much learning both on my personal time (and choice I might add), as well as school related. Right now adding both together, im technically learning :
- ActionScript 3.0
- MySQL/PHP (Both from a course)
- TransactSQL (Online seminar)
- JavaScript... this one I’ve dived into ahead of time, but class presents this also
- VBA...OK this one is more work related, but scripting inside excel
- Japanese (As always, going on year 3 with a total lack of extreme effort though I can read and write basic hirinaga)
Well, nuff said
, a bit overboard, but I’ll do what I can to get to this, considering I have a hard time placing context TO a page, I may consider siding towards coding as its sort of a hobby more so than It is work related although I’ve never had a chance to write a real program for some use outside of personal ones...
